I see. We're in the process of picking a part time preschool and the Montessori has a no holiday celebrations policy while everyone else is doing Halloween parades and parties (no idea if candy is involved) and planning Christmas pagents and Santa visits. From that angle, I prefer no holidays at preschool to having to later explain that Santa not coming to our house does not mean he's a bad boy. On the other hand, they can do fun themed projects and costumes and healthy themed snacks without candy, so it might be overkill to not celebrate at all. I wouldn't really care though. We have plenty of other opportunities for celebration outside of school.
