1. Frankly, being a gay woman myself, I have a very hard time imagining your story. Not as I doubt that it happened (as you said so) but it's very uncharacteristic of gay behavior, especially -- for women; you must have encountered a clinical nutcase (i.e., a mentally damaged person)
2. And again, this one concrete unpleasant experience of yours -- what does it rebuff? You are building your argument on an isolated untypical incident while I'm referring to the deep-rooted cultural differences -- a single anecdotal case vs. cultural trends, social attitudes (such as a notorious disregard toward personal space, for example) and repetitive behavior (observations/experiences of which, by the way, indeed, serve as a basis for the intelligent conclusions about "цивилизованности или дикости страны")
With regard to "выпады в мой адрес" ("yours", that is) -- first, I simply wouldn't dare :) plus, what's the point of wasting precious time on squabbling? life is too short, you know
I simply find it puzzling (bewildering even, if you will) when an intelligent (and not completely evil -- despite the highly publicized "Schadenfreude" alter ego :) person resorts, and persistently so, to the pure emotional "reasoning" and perceptions instead of rational logic and fairness
